High Court enrolment: £53.05

GOV.UK currently lists the High Court enrolment fee as £53.05. Enrolment is a separate public-record process; it is not the same thing as buying an unenrolled deed poll from a private service.

Costs of updating documents after a name change

Name-change costs depend on which documents you actually need to replace. A GB driving-licence name change is free when you are not also changing the photo. Passport replacement is chargeable at the normal passport fee. Banks, employers, utilities and other organisations set their own processes and normally do not charge simply to update a name, but you should check each provider.

If your passport does not need replacing immediately, there is no general rule that says you must pay for a new passport solely because you have signed a deed poll. However, your travel documents and bookings must be consistent when you travel, so plan document updates carefully.
